Wana Bana at MINT Mode Fabriek
Last 13th and 14th July, Marieke Eyskoot, dutch guru in Sustainable Fashion, invited Wana Bana Design to participate at MINT, the Sustainable Fashion isle of Mode Fabriek (the most important fashion commercial fair in the Benelux).
Together with recognised ethical brands such as People Tree, Kuyichi and Studio Jux; Wana Bana Design exposed a selected collection of handcrafted one of a kind bags and jewellery from Medellin Designer Alado: one of the most outstanding and with most projection in the Colombian independent design.
Also participated at MINT pop-up shop curated by Amsterdam’s famous Fair+Fair Shop with a selection of Bogota’s Brand Diente de Leon hand-printed tights.
Marieke says: “We are very proud to have Alado in our exhibition and to be able to show to the fashion industry that it is possible to make outstanding fashion accessories pieces in a responsible way. The creativity of Alado is refreshing to see”.
The Colombian Embassy vice-Ambassador Alvaro Gutierrez was excited to see the reaction of the people coming to the stand and to learn a bit more about ethical fashion: garment made in a responsible way avoiding as much as possible environmental impact and with respect for the people who produce it.
Colombian Liliana Rengifo, owner of Wana Bana was satisfied: “I am really happy to have the opportunity to show our talent, another source of inspiration and creativity for Europe”.
